Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Kitchen & Laundry Technician to join our team in Kooddoo, Maldives. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of kitchen and laundry equipment, ensuring smooth operations in our hospitality facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various kitchen and laundry equipment, including ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, and steamers.
- Conduct regular inspections and diagnose faults in electrical, mechanical, and automated kitchen and laundry equipment.
- Replace or repair faulty parts, such as motors, heating elements, bearings, and belts.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities and service reports.
- Ensure all kitchen and laundry equipment operates efficiently and safely, in compliance with company and local safety regulations.
- Implement proactive maintenance strategies to prevent breakdowns and minimize operational disruptions.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized repairs and procurement of spare parts.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and housekeeping teams to schedule maintenance and repairs with minimal impact on operations.
- Assist in training operational staff on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and implement immediate corrective actions.
- Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts to reduce equipment downtime.
- Participate in after-hours on-call duty as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Refrigeration Engineering.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in kitchen and laundry equipment maintenance within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment brands (e.g., Rational, Electrolux, Hobart).
- Solid understanding of electrical wiring and HVAC systems related to kitchen and laundry operations.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in hotel engineering maintenance.
- Proven track record in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and vendors.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Ability to adapt to the tropical climate and island environment of Kooddoo, Maldives.
