As a key member of the property's Executive Committee, the Director of Commercial Services (DCS) holds a highly visible position with regular interaction with Ownership, as well as Senior and Corporate leadership. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability by developing and implementing comprehensive commercial strategies.
The DCS integrates expertise across revenue management, sales, events, and marketing to enhance performance in all revenue-generating areas. The Director also leads cross-functional collaboration, ensuring all commercial initiatives align with the property's broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee Sales and Marketing P&L, revenue forecasting, and the creation of both short-term and long-term business strategies. Responsible for training and managing sales managers, event managers, and coordinators.
• Provide strategic direction and support to the sales, events, and marketing teams to ensure the hotel meets its financial objectives.
• Ensure the development of accurate annual revenue budgets and monthly forecasts that align with the hotel's goals and outperform competitors.
• Lead revenue management initiatives aimed at optimizing RevPAR, ADR, and occupancy through strategic forecasting, pricing, and inventory control.
• Conduct market analysis, monitor competitor performance, and assess consumer behavior to guide pricing, promotions, and distribution strategies.
• Manage and nurture relationships with key stakeholders such as OTAs, GDS providers, and corporate accounts.
• Ensure full engagement from all hotel departments in executing revenue strategies, promoting success across all revenue-generating areas.
• Collaborate with department leaders across sales, banquets, revenue, operations, and marketing to form a cohesive commercial services team.
• Oversee the development and execution of the hotel's marketing plan, evaluating its effectiveness in driving revenue.
• Provide regular weekly and monthly performance updates and reports to ownership.
• Maintain a strong understanding of hotel operations and the broader commercial landscape, including digital marketing, e-commerce, and distribution.
• This role reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with the Regional Revenue Team across Sales, Revenue, Events, and Marketing.
This is a salaried position with compensation ranging from $140,600-$217,700.
