Volkswagen does not plan to produce hybrid and all-electric pickups, Ralph Branstatter, COO, told CarSales. There is no detailed information on future equipment. However, experts expect the Volkswagen Amarok in 2022 to receive gasoline and diesel engines with a displacement of 2.7 and 3.0 liters, respectively. The motor line will be fully consistent with the platform Ford Ranger.
However, the motor line of both models will be consistent with the sales market. In the US, companies will develop gasoline versions, while in Europe they will focus on diesel engines. Whether the new product will be presented in Russia is not reported.
