Description
Thompson Palm Springs is currently recruiting a Group Sales Manager to cover the SoCal, Southwest and Southeast regions of the US, plus group inquiries originating out of Mexico, South America, Europe and Asia.
We are in search of a seasoned top producing sales professional to fill the role of Group Sales Manager. This individual must demonstrate, through performance, a commitment and expertise in group sales efforts, strategic prospecting to generate revenue, and be engaging with our local guests, staff and customers. Primary responsibilities include selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Thompson services to group customers. Additional skills required to excel in the position will include account management, relationship-driven sales tactics, computer literacy, and proven strategies to identify and secure corporate meeting and incentive groups. Duties also include conducting site inspections, entertainment, preparing and presenting effective proposals, negotiating contracts, maintaining well-organized documentation and reports, utilizes Hyatt systems, and working with all departments to provide customer service for our guests as needed. The Group Sales Manager must actively participate in daily and weekly team and staff meetings and work closely with the sales, marketing and events staff in collaboration with the department's Administrative Assistants and other staff members throughout the hotel. Group sales managers are expected to provide ongoing management, prospecting and solicitation of complex accounts with past and future corporate groups. This role may occasionally take on leadership functions to support the team and projects as needed under the guidance of the Director of Sales & Marketing.

This is an exempt (salaried) role. The budgeted salary range for this position is $68,640 - $87,000 annually. $73,600 is the base salary Thompson Palm Springs reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on factors including experience and education.

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• Refined verbal and written communication skills
• 3-5 years of group sales and negotiating experience in the hotel industry (luxury/lifestyle sector)
• Be proficient working with various computer systems (experience with Envision preferred)
