Ajman Tourism Hosts Emirate’s First Aquathlon for Professionals and Beginners
Aquathlon Ajman includes six categories and opens for both professionals and amateurs.
Ajman TourismDevelopment Department (ATDD) is organizing the first Aquathlon in the Emirate at Al Zorah on Friday, 18thDecember 2020. The race is being heldin cooperation with the UAETriathlonAssociation,along withthe support of Al Zorah Development company,Ajman Policeand the Municipality and Planning Department- Ajman, the General Directorate of Civil Defense Ajman, andCritical Infrastructure Coastal Protection Authority.
Open for both professionals and amateurs, Aquathlon Ajman includes the following six categories: Junior Aquathlon-Emirati(200m Swim | 1.5Km Run), Super Sprint Aquathlon-Emirati(500m Swim | 2.5Km Run), Sprint Aquathlon-Emirati(1km Swim | 5Km Run), Junior Aquathlon-open category(200m Swim | 1.5Km Run), Super Sprint Aquathlonopen category(500m Swim | 2.5Km Run), and Sprint Aquathlon-open category(1km Swim | 5Km Run).
The race is being hosted keeping every precautionary and safety measure in place including Coronavirus testing, temperature checks for all participants, wearing masks and gloves during the race, limiting the number of participants, and ensuring social distancing.
HE Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, ATDD Director General, said, We atAjman Tourismcontinue to organize diverse sporting events that provide a unique experience for residents as well as visitors. Ajman Aquathlon comes as a part of Ajman Tourisms series of races aimed at positioning the Emirate as a prominent destination for sports and entertainment tourism.
HE Khalid Al Fahim, Chairman of the UAE Triathlon Association said, The association is making all efforts in providing technical support to the triathlons organizers and is encouraging Emirati participation to boost the sporting scene in Ajman. We are always on the lookout for Emirati talents who we can train, and make them qualified to participate in international tournaments. We are keen on selecting the best players in the triathlon community, including the Al Hudayriat Triathlon.
