Baris Kahraman, the distinguished Chef de Cuisine at Rixos Al Mairid, Ras Al Khaimah, was honored with the Gold award for Chef de Cuisine of the Year at the prestigious Middle East Chef Excellence Awards 2025. The esteemed ceremony took place on June 2nd at Address Sky View, Dubai, celebrating the region's leading culinary professionals. This accolade is a clear manifestation of Chef Kahraman's extensive expertise, creative vision, and exceptional leadership in the culinary arts.
With over 15 years of rich experience in gastronomy and culinary arts, Chef Baris Kahraman is celebrated as a passionate and innovative culinary artist. His impressive skill set extends beyond the kitchen to include proficiency in customer service, invoice processing, and directing culinary teams. He adeptly manages the daily operations of the resort's restaurants, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, captivating presentation, and impeccable service.
Chef Kahraman's career trajectory includes significant roles as a Chef de Cuisine at Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi, from April 2023 to April 2024, and previously at Rixos Abu Dhabi Marina from November 2022 to April 2023, where he served as a Sous Chef. These roles provided him with invaluable experience in preparing and overseeing a diverse array of cuisines, with a particular specialization in Mediterranean, Turkish-Ottoman, and Italian.
He is also highly skilled in handling large-scale events and catering to the discerning tastes of VIP guests. Chef Kahraman finds immense joy in crafting innovative and diverse menus that perfectly cater to the preferences and needs of guests, and he passionately collaborates with local suppliers and farmers to source fresh, sustainable, and high-quality ingredients.

His previous experience also includes a Sous Chef role at Vogue Hotel Supreme from March 2022 to October 2022, overseeing large-scale operations across multiple restaurants within a resort boasting over 1200 guest rooms and various villas.
Furthermore, he served as a Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency in Al-Riyadh Governorate, Saudi Arabia, from November 2018 to October 2020, managing operations for their 56th Avenue Diner and Azure restaurants.
