The Dubai College of Tourism (DCT)celebrated the achievements and accomplishments of the graduating class of 2019 in a special graduation ceremony held at the Intercontinental Festival City

· Students honoured for successful completion of Certificate Programmes in Tourism, Hospitality, Events, Retail and Culinary Arts
· Students can now transition into Dubai’s thriving tourism workforce, or progress onto Diploma and Applied Bachelor’s programmes
Dubai, UAE; 18 July 2019: The Dubai College of Tourism (DCT), a training and vocational education institution established by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), yesterday celebrated the achievements and accomplishments of the graduating class of 2019 in a special graduation ceremony held at the Intercontinental Festival City. Certificates in Tourism, Hospitality, Events, Retail and Culinary Arts were awarded by the Director General of Dubai Tourism,His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, to students for successful completion of their first year before an audience of college peers, teachers, and their families. The graduation ceremony was also attended by His Excellency Ahmad Julfar, Director General of Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA), which supported DCT’s vocational training programme by sponsoring some of the students with scholarships.
Mr. Tawhid Abdulla, Chairman of Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group delivered an impactful keynote speech that highlighted the importance of relevant industry experience for the careers of students. The Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group endorsed a number of scholarships for students at DCT, inviting them to participate in internships during the first year of their chosen programme.
DCT continues to offer innovative educational experiences to empower students of all levels to succeed in the city’s thriving tourism sector, with courses designed and conducted by industry expert instructors using interactive and immersive hands-on teaching techniques. With the successful completion of their first years, graduating students will now be able to progress to the Diploma programme, which takes a further 6 months of study and then onto the Applied Bachelor’s degree programme, with an additional year of study. Students have the opportunity to attain an Applied Bachelor’s degree at the College over the period of just two and a half years, for a much lower cost than traditional universities.

DCT is a vocational education college that is accredited by the Knowledge & Human Development Authority (KHDA), allowing students to gain both academic knowledge and career experience.
